Time really does fly...Tesla just turned 5, and she graduated from preschool to head to kindergarten in August! Wow. With Aila's arrival, she has bloomed into a wonderful big sister, and in other ways, seems to have matured too. She just seems so big to me. I am glad I have another baby to focus on : )
I let Tesla choose everything for her birthday this year, sort of as a thank you for being so accommodating with Aila. She knew exactly what she wanted: Hello Kitty jumpy castle at McKinley park with a Hello Kitty cake (not cupcakes), and she requested to open her presents at the party. All went reasonably well except that it was freezing cold at the park with gusting wind (typical SF summer day...). The food snacks were cold, the table cloth ripped off, and adults huddled together in the sunny area as best they could. I had cold beer, wine, and juices, but should have had hot tea! Luckily the kids didn't mind at all, and the jumpy castle was a huge success. Tesla loved the attention, and the gifts.
I was a bit overwhelmed at how all the kids wanted to be center for the gift opening. It was minor mayhem.
The Hello Kitty cake was accepted with gusto. Dav was a hero for stepping in to cut pieces for each eager kid.
We had leftover cake, and after lunch today, Tesla requested some for dessert, along with candles. At the park, it was so windy I had to forego candles, so today, just the 2 of us, sang Happy Birthday along with the candles.
She's milking her special day this year, but I am very happy for her
**Highlights from her graduation**
T giving a speech along with her classmates. She did it in Japanese.
My brother came. My mom stayed specially to participate too, so it was quite a family thing for Tesla.
Beautiful! Tesla looks so happy these days.
So glad you did the bouncy castle and all the hoopla to show her how special she is.
