Before I get back to the Tokyo trip and various videos I took, I just have to show you these precious pictures from T's preschool's huge annual big-deal performance event at the Palace of Fine Arts from yesterday. The event was to raise funds for the school, and also provide the children with the experience of practicing, then performing. T initially refused to practice, so a quick "you can have ice cream if you practice" one time, did the trick. She soon became so eager and good at the routine that the teachers started telling Dav and I that she was one of the best amongst the group, always at the front, etc. So we were looking forward to seeing her.
But...poor T must have flipped out once on the stage in front of 100s of people. I really wanted to see her dance, and my heart went out to her while watching her. She didn't dance a step, and immediately, her thumb was in her mouth. She started to cry, but somehow held that in. At one point, a teacher waived her to the side, and apparently T's reason was, "my back hurts" (???) but the teacher coaxed her back to stand with her fellow bears. After the performance, she seemed to forget or not care that she didn't dance, so it was less of an issue to her than for us who wanted to see her dance. Now I can share these pictures as an adorable record of her toddler hood, and I hope she'll laugh with me when she's 15. She apparently got a lot of attention since although seeing all these cuties prancing around as bears, she really put on an honest show.
What can I say? I love my cute T.
