A snippet of a summer culture

I was lucky enough to get to visit my friend and former colleague who now lives in Yokohama. She has 2 small children, and we got to catch up about family and work. And it just so happened that her neighborhood was hosting a small omatsuri/summer festival where small kids could pull a musical celebratory cart to celebrate the community.

It was super muggy and hot! But I got Tesla and Aila to participate a bit, along with the "washoi, washoi" that brings back such memories for me! Even though Tesla and Aila had no idea what this was all about, I am so glad they got to experience it. Receiving popsicles as part of it helped : )  

And gosh, it's so nice that even after all these years living in S.F., I can come back and catch up with old friends. ありがとう！
