Today is T's last day at preschool. On Monday, she will be a proud kindergartener at Rosa Parks. Brilliant thing is a group of her curent classmates will be there too, and she is going to the after-school program run by her preschool so she will get to still see some of her favorite teachers. I love that we are part of this close community where T can experience a continuity while we live in this diverse city. Even without the Japanese language part, I feel Nihonmachi Little Friends is one of the best programs around. Aila will go there too, and the teachers are waiting for her : )
Still, it's hard to believe my baby is so grown now. I learned a lot from her preschool too, in the sense of how to let her go in a nurturing way. She is beginning her own journey, learning about things through others apart from mama.
Below is T 2 years ago, carrying blankie to school. First few weeks she cried every day I left her. Was so hard to leave, but 2 minutes after I was gone, she'd be happy playing.
