Dav's lunches

I was cleaning up my desktop and found a folder of pictures I took of lunches I used to make for Dav. Used to...during my maternity leave when I got to be as domestic as I wanted to. I loved it. I'm a very domestic person and loved planning, shopping for, making, and sending Dav off with yummy lunches. I took pictures because I knew I couldn't continue that when I worked, but was bashful about posting them. They represent great memories of a wonderful time when I got to fulfill my domestic urges and lovingly support daddy while he worked, and while I bonded and cared for our tiny T. Heh. I still make lunches every morning, but for Tesla. She's into basic finger-food now, but I look forward to the time when it's worth making smiley faces or cute structures out of her food to entice her. Japanese cooking for kids is very cute and fun. I plan to take advantage of that : )

Wow -- those have got to be the yummiest and most beautiful lunches ever!
Dav is so lucky. I don't think anyone has EVER made me a lunch box -- pretty or not -- in my whole LIFE!! Not even as a kid, because in Austria school is over before lunchtime, so kids will go home and have a hot lunch at home with mom.

And for the record: The lunch you made for us when I visited was the best one ever, too -- thank you so very much!

I love these too - and have to say that you've set the bar pretty high for those of us about to go on maternity leave! ;) Will and I both remember you making Dav's lunches when we visited - you inspired us to want bento boxes to pack our meager sandwiches.
