Vege delight - not
Whoa. Tried mashed up veges for Tesla today. She was very expressive about the taste. But she ate 5 spoonfuls. Both Dav and I couldn't stop laughing at her...

My five
As others who have participated in this noted, it's hard coming up with things people don't know about me. Old friends and Dav know pretty much everything...but for the amusement to others, here are my 5 things that you probably don't know about me. They are all pretty embarrassing. I worked for a night club in Tokyo one summer during college. I was placed in the V.I.P. section, meaning I served the yakuza gang who allowed the club to exist. I had to wear a red beret with a tight top and baggy plaid pants. Not sure what they were...

Wow -- amazing.
Kai loved organic fruit and veggie baby jars starting at age 4-6 months, like carrot, apple & blueberry, sweet potato, etc.
Gotta taste them first, though -- some taste just awful, like cardboard soaked in water, while others are delicious!

PS -- I used organic baby food from the store, mostly Earth's Best.
Their fruit jars were fantastic, and some of the veggies tasted very good, too.

Yeah, I hear fruits are more popular. We're doing veges only at first, as recommended, just in case she refuses veges once tasting delicious fruits. However, I did give mashed up bananas for dessert. : )

Heh heh. They're so funny, aren't they? Luci had the same reaction at first. But, as another commenter suggested, the Earth's Best baby food is really great. It worked for us to get her started on solids...I think she was better able to handle the smooth texture and so the whole concept of solids just clicked for her. Now she can eat thing that require a little "chewing" and she's reaching for stuff when we're eating. She's really getting into it.
So sorry we'll be missing you at the Mom's group this week. I think it would be great if you could host one on a Thursday later on. I do think a lot of the mom's are flexible on the day of the week. I'd love to hear about how things are going for all of you now that you're back at work so give us a call when you get a little more settled.
Love,
K
ps LOVED reading about your NYE! You guys rock.

Yep. I'm using Earth's Best. And to be honest, although those faces make it look horrible, I think her reaction was more about it just being new. She did eat quite a lot, and would go for more even after having such a sour look. We've already been giving her tiny tastes of what we eat for a while since she stares at us and reaches out.
And yes, I'll host a Thursday soon. January is just socially pretty booked so I'll wait til February. This Thursday, I'm taking Tesla to Leapfrog to test out products under development. Sounds like fun for the baby. If interested, let me know and I'll get a contact for you : )
