The movie I just saw with Ian and family is The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill.
I highly recommend it as it is one of the most human and heart-warming documentaries I've seen in a long time. Mark Bittner truely understands the wild parrot flock he lived close to. Both he and the film lovingly showed the parrot personalities and stories that brought tears to my eyes. If one opens up, animals really are amazing.

I'm catching up with reading...so much has happened around you!
I've missed seeing the parrots in SF, and Mark's book has been on my wishlist ever since. So now they have competed their documentary, you say? Lucky you!!! [you should know that I am slightly more crazy for parrots than for cats, but only slightly ;) ]

Mie-
Will's Dad is a wildlife rehabilitator and LOVES birds. He has a parrot named Pee Wee who is always with him. I've looked up the movie and it is coming to NC in June- we will definetly go see it! Ele

Mademaoisell a.,
Yes, if you are crazy for parrots, this story is for you. I had no idea how expressive and complex they are. Total little beings with feelings and social networks! I would love to get to a parrot someday...
Ele,
I can see why. I never knew birds were like this. Let me know what you think of the movie...

Definitely :) I have a pair of lovebirds (miniature parrots sort-of), Ping & Pong, and how many times have I told them about their big cousins on Telegraph Hill!
Now I need to find out whether there are plans for an international launch of the docu...
