This makes sense

Another experience where technology blows my mind, rearranges the way I see this world, and makes a whole lot of sense. Yes, technology can be strange, scary and worrisome. It has powerful potential and who knows where it may lead us. It certainly intimidated me, and the more I felt I didn't know, the more I felt left behind and on the outside of some special cirlce. Yet lately, meaning these past 2 years or so, the internet has meant a lot to me. Like heart-felt, "geez, this is important to my life," meaning.

And tonight, for the first time, my dad conacted Dav and I through our macs to use iSight.

I got to talk to him as if we were sitting across the table. No worries about the phone bill. In fact, twice he got up: once to answer the phone, once to answer the door. It was refreshing to have the luxury to discuss whatever came to our minds instead of focusing on the urgent issues at hand. My mom wasn't home so we're all gonna try and hook up tomorrow.

I don't feel so far away from my parents now.
