How to pass time

I couldn't resist and went to the cafe to check out the card game. They totally were into it; slapping down each card with a stylish throw, praising each other ("that's right man, make him play it"), and showing off their cards to me even though I don't know much and joking that my camera phone was for spying.

Too cool ... they look like they came all the way from New Orleans. I never have that much fun on my train rides - our train personnell will never reach this level of being cool.

Oooh, that would have been so much fun! I LOVE playing spades! In fact, that's how Adam and I started dating originally - spades needs 4 people, so it was my 2 roomies and I, and Adam was always the 4th player. (I married him, tossed the roomies). So did they teach you how to play spades?

They tried briefly explaining, but I didn't want to butt in and didn't want to end up having to play for hours, so I politely listened, but didn't join... Besides, there were really good!
